Alcon Entertainment, a company specializing in film and television production, has filed a lawsuit against Tesla and Warner Bros. Discovery over the alleged use of images from the film 'Blade Runner 2049' in the advertisement of Tesla's new autonomous vehicle.
The lawsuit, filed by Alcon in California, accuses Tesla of violating U.S. copyright law and claims that Tesla is misleadingly suggesting a connection between Alcon and the automobile company, which is owned by Elon Musk.
The lawsuit states: 'Any recognizable brand that intends to partner with Tesla must take into account Musk's erratic behavior, his extreme unpredictability, and authorship, sometimes bordering on the expression of hatred'.
Warner Bros. was the distributor of Alcon's film 'Blade Runner 2049', which won two Oscars in 2018 and featured Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford.
